BOT Farm (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in October 2020 and began commercial operations in May 2023 from a purpose-built laboratory. Family-owned, engineer-led, professionally managed — and built by people whose instinct is to measure, log and reconcile everything.
Inside the facility
Two growth rooms, 3,675 ft² of shelf
21 seven-tier culture racks under 756 LED strip lights, held at 2,000–4,000 lux with temperature and humidity monitored in real time. Capacity 50,000 culture vessels.
Seven laminar flow worktops
One single and three double units in a dedicated transfer area behind a dual-lock entrance — expandable to twenty using the vacant second floor.
200L and 100L autoclaves
Plus a separate 40L unit reserved exclusively for decontaminating waste cultures. Biological waste goes to controlled incineration; imported material stays bonded and never enters the local ecosystem.

Netherlands and Australian components, with HiMedia and Meron from India — RO water, calibrated pH and precision weighing, and protocols tested per crop and per subculture stage.
Smart, monitored, and never dark
Wi-Fi mesh across the premises, scheduled lighting and air conditioning controlled from a phone, bipolar-ionisation air purification in growth and transfer areas, CCTV on critical zones. Three-phase 60A supply, 38 kW solar, standby generator, growth rooms able to run in isolation.

Why Gampaha matters to an exporter
22 km and 45 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport, on multiple access routes — air cargo reaches the terminal well inside the six-hour pre-departure window even in bad traffic. Quarantine coordination for phytosanitary inspection happens on site.
The facility sits at the highest elevation in Gampaha City, with no recorded history of flood or landslide. The Central Expressway entrance, 1.5 km away, opens mid-2028.

Academic collaborations
We support the Department of Indigenous Medicinal Resources at Wickramarachchi Ayurvedic University in running a functional tissue culture laboratory on campus — shared knowledge, shared resources, hands-on training.
